Welcome to Life's a Beach Fantasy Football

Entering its 15th Season, Life’s a Beach Fantasy Football sets the standard for fantasy gaming with unique scoring and unparalleled competition.  Through years of careful study, analytics, and subtle tweaks – we’ve developed the most comprehensive point scoring system in all of Fantasy Sports.  Our scoring system awards players for skill, not for luck.

Life’s a Beach began it’s inaugural season in 2008 with a measly four teams.  In 2009, it expanded to 10 teams and would remain with 10 until 2012 before adding two additional teams.  Over the years, we’ve seen nearly 30 different managers lead teams through our divisions.

Now, in 2022, we up the ante again – with 14 teams!

LEAGUE RULES

League Rules

Minimum Roster Positions
All roster positions must be filled by the time of the final game in a given week. Managers are allowed to deplete a position (i.e. Kicker, Defense) entirely, so as long as that position is filled before the end of the week. Violations of this rule will result in a -500 point deduction from the team's score that week.
Starting Lineup Completeness
All managers are expected to fill a completed starting lineup every week, regardless of situation (injury, bye week, etc.). In some instances, this may require cutting bench players unexpectedly to fill a starting slot. Ignoring this rule will result in a -500 point deduction from the team's score that week. Exceptions are made for players who are ruled OUT as a game-time decision or when an eligible replacement is not available (i.e. last minute status change on a Monday night game).
League Ejection
Managers who go absent for multiple games (defined by not making obvious roster moves) will be ejected from the league for the following year or within the current season. Their buy-in is not refunded. All managers are expected to field a competitive team through the end of the season.
Penalty for Drafted Keepers
Any player that has a "Draft Position" designation is eligible to be kept with a 2 round penalty. This includes players that you drafted in the previous year, that you traded for from the original drafter, or that you waivered using priority (not free agency). For example, if you drafted a player in Round 3 and wanted to keep them, you would sacrifice your 1st Round pick in the following year.
Penalty for Drafted Free Agent Keepers
If a player was drafted and dropped, then another team scoops them up off of waivers - they are eligible to be kept at their drafted status. This is only valid if the player in question was acquired via the waiver system (even at $0) not an open pickup.
Penalty for Undrafted, Free Agency Keepers
Any player on your roster is eligible to be kept at the end of the year. If they have a 'Drafted' designation, you must adhere to the penalty. However, if they were acquired via free agency, you can keep them at the new year's ADP (via Yahoo). No players with an ADP value of Round 1 or 2 may be kept.
Number of Keepers
All managers may keep up to 2 players per season, adhering to the rules above. Managers are not required to keep any players, if they do not wish.
Understanding How FAAB Works
Every team earns $100 in "Free Agent Auction Budget" (FAAB) at the start of the season. Managers are eligible to bid as little as $0 or as much as their max budget on any player that hits the waiver period. The manager with the highest bid will win the free agent.
Waiver Priority for Equal Bids
If two teams submit the same bid on a player, the waiver is granted to the team with the lowest reverse order of standing.
Waiver Adds After Clearing
Once waivers clear, all players are eligible to be added/dropped without penalty and regardless of the time of day. If a manager is concerned about acquiring a player, they should put in a waiver priority for that player.
Roster Dumps
Roster dumps are strictly prohibited and will be reversed if suspected. Roster dumps are typically defined by a losing record team making an imbalanced trade to a playoff contending team near the trade deadline.
Trade Allowances
All trades will be accepted during the regular season, regardless of perspective. League Commissioner reserves the right to overturn a trade if there is a suspicion of coercion.
Overturning a Trade
A trade may be overturned if 2/3 league majority petitions that the trade is not fair and presents sound reasoning to the League Commissioner.
